HIP (Home Information Pack) Explained
A HIP contains a number of key legal documents which is important information for both the Buyer and Seller. The main requirements for documents are as follows:-
- An index
- An Energy Performance Certificate
- A Sale Statement
- Evidence of Title
- Standard Searches
- Common hold Information (if applicable)
- Leasehold Information (if applicable)
- A PIQ (Property Information Questionnaire) - As of April 2009
By providing this information at the initial stage of any interest shown by a Purchaser, the pack should benefit both parties by reducing the likelihood of any surprises arising later in the process and should therefore not delay the sale.
Please Note:
On and from April 6th 2009 you must have a HIP in place ready to show potential buyers before the property is marketed for sale.
